2. Your first consultation

During your first dermal filler consultation, your practitioner will provide you with detailed explanations about the most appropriate dermal filler treatments. This is also your chance to clarify any concerns or doubts and to make an informed decision. (33,34)

In order to advise you about the appropriate choice of filler treatment for you, your practitioner will examine your face, skin quality and type, degree of skin laxity, amount of volume loss in certain areas, and depth of wrinkles and lines. He or she will also ask questions about your medical history and any regular medications you may be taking. (32,33)

Remember to tell your practitioner if you are using any medications. Certain medications such as aspirin or anticoagulants can increase the risk of bruising. (21-23,35)

One of the great advantages of HA dermal fillers is that the effects are long-lasting but not permanent. The average duration of treatment depends on the individual and other factors such as lifestyle (e.g. sun exposure, smoking), the severity of the wrinkle/fold to be corrected, the type of injection and the volume of product injected. Hyaluronic acid fillers last up to 22 months. (21-24,32-35)

It is important to keep your Beauty Pass up-to-date with your medical information, and previous aesthetic treatments. Make sure to give it to your practitioner at every consultation. (36)
